NYU Constance Milstein and Family Global Academic Center, Washington, DC

New York University's first satellite campus located in DC, the twelve level (three below grade and nine above grade) building serves as a residential, an academic and social venue. The lower levels include seminar and meeting rooms, offices, a 200-seat auditorium, and a spacious lobby that serves as a student lounge or venue for special events. The center includes five floors of residential floors featuring a mix of four bed suites, studios, one and two bedrooms; two floors of faculty and offices; and four stories of classrooms, lecture halls, and student life space.

This mixed use academic building is located on a major thoroughfare of Washington, DC.  The urban infill project was extremely challenging due to the narrow site constrained on all sides by adjacent buildings, L Street, and a public alley and the deep excavation required for the below grade levels.  The nature of the site limited production during excavation and careful planning was undertaken to stage and stock materials.

New York University's DC Campus is LEED® Gold certified.
