Once completed, the Hyattsville Area Elementary School, named Edward Felegy Elementary School, will be a 2 story, split-level elementary school.  The school consists of a steel frame structure and masonry facade.  New classrooms, an auditorium with an elevated stage, cafeteria, music room, arts room, administrative offices, and a teachers' lounge are part of the project.  The roofing system will incorporate areas of membrane roofing and areas of vegetated roofing systems.  Outdoors, the school will have sports fields and 2 play areas with poured rubber surfaces, wood seating, and playground equipment for students in grades 1-6.

Edward Felegy Elementary School is targeting LEED® Schools Gold.
